This specification establishes the requirements for freecutting brass rod, bar, wire, and shapes of any specified cross section produced from Copper Alloy UNS Nos. C36000 or C36010 suitable for high-speed screw machining applications and moderate thread rolling.Units—Values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the standard.

A. In any case, a minimum gage length of 25 mm shall be used. SI elongation values are based on a gage length of 5.65 times the square root of the area for dimensions
greater than 2.5 mm.
