This specification establishes the requirements for copper-alloy plate, sheet, and circles cut from plate and sheet for pressure vessels, condensers, and heat exchangers.The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI units are to be regarded separately as standard. Within the text, the SI units are shown in brackets. The values in each system are not exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in nonconformance with the specification.

A. Designation established in accordance with Practice E 527.
B. When the product is for subsequent welding applications, and is so specified by the purchaser, chromium shall be 0.05 % max, cadmium 0.05 % max, zirconium 0.05 %
max and zinc 0.05 % max.
C. When the product is for subsequent welding applications, and is so specified by the purchaser, zinc shall be 0.50 % max, lead 0.02 % max, phosphorus 0.02 % max,
sulfur 0.02 % max, and carbon 0.05 % max.
D. Iron content shall not exceed the nickel content.
