  • The Size in Parentheses should be avoided if possible.
  • P is the pitch of the thread
  • For Lengths lnom ≤ 125 mm.
  • For Lengths 125 mm < lnom ≤ 200 mm.
  • For lengths lnom > 200 mm.
  • Radius r2 applies both at the corners and at the flats of the hexagon.
  • Screws with lengths shown above the thick stepped line are threaded to head.
  • Reduced shank type (type R) onky below the dashed stepped line.
  • lg is the minimum grip length.

The requirements given in Table 2 apply. If, in special cases, specifications other than those listed in this European Standard are required, they shall be selected, from existing European or international Standards, for example ISO 724, ISO888, prEN ISO 898-1, ISO 965-2, prEN ISO 3506-1.

Example 1.

Example 2.
Designation of a hexagon bolt with flange, heavy series, with thread M12, nominal length l = 80mm, type F, and property class 8.8:

If, in special cases, a hexagon bolt with flange, heavy series, with reduced shank is required, the letter R shall be included in the designation.

Designation of a hexagon bolt with flange, heavy series, with thread M12, nominal length l = 80mm, type F or U at the option of the manufacturer, with reduced shank (R) and property class 8.8:
