NOTE 1 That of nominal diameter given in ( ) should not preferably be used as far as possible.
NOTE 2 See JIS B 1009 for the thread length on nut end side (b).
NOTE 3 For the thread length on stud end side (bm), whichever of Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3 shall be designated by the purchaser.
Class 1 shall be equal to or nearly equal to 1.25d, Class 2 to 1.5d, and Class 3 to 2d.
Class 1 and Class 2 are intended for the object studded into steel (including steel castings and steel forgings) or cast iron, and the                Class 3 is for light alloys.
NOTE 4 The end on stud end side shall be the chamfered end and the end on nut end side shall be the round end, and the shape and                dimensions thereof shall be in accordance with JIS B 1003.
Notes a) The dimensions x and u shall be the length of incomplete thread and 2 pitches or under.
           b) The straightness shall be as given in table 2.
           c) As those attached with * mark among the preferable nominal lengths are not capable of securing the specified thread length due to           the shortness of the nominal length (l), the thread length on nut end side may be made smaller than the minimum value of b of table 1             however, it shall not be made smaller than d+ 2P (d is the nominal designation of thread, and P is pitch, and the values of coarse thread             are used) given in table 3. In addition, the body length shall generally be La or over of table 3.

In this table, the permissible deviations on the thread angle and pitch are not specified particularly, but these are included in the tolerances on the pitch diameter by converting into the pitch diameter. Therefore, as to the upper deviation of the pitch diameter in this table, the virtual pitch diameter shall be inspected using the measuring instrument or thread gauge having the reference length of engagement, and as to the lower permissible deviation of the pitch diameter, the simple pitch diameter shall be inspected.
NOTE: The tolerance zone class of the screw threads being engaged with those of table 4 should preferably be 5H specified in JIS B 0209-3.
Note a) The roundness of root may not necessarily be of an exact circular arc, but shall not be of an angular shape.
