The screw threads on stud end side shall be the metric coarse threads or the metric fine pitch threads specified in JIS 0205-3, and the permissible dimensional deviations and tolerances thereof shall be as given in table 4. However, the case where the permissible dimensional deviations and tolerances other than table 4 are required for those on which the electroplating has been processed shall be in accordance with the designation of the purchaser.
The screw threads on nut end side shall be the metric coarse threads or the metric
fine pitch threads specified in JIS 0205-3, and the tolerance zone class
thereof shall be 6g specified in JIS B 0209-3.
Further, the maximum permissible dimension of the screw threads on which the
electroplating has been processed shall be the maximum permissible dimension of 4h.
The studs shall be tested in accordance with 10.3, and the mechanical properties thereof shall be 4.8, 8.8, 9.8 and 10.9 in the property class of the mechanical properties specified in JIS B 1051
The materials of studs shall be in accordance with JIS B 1051.
The studs shall be inspected in accordance with 10.4, and the surface condition thereof shall be smooth and free from the detrimental defects in use such as cracks, flaws, burrs and rusts.
The surface treatment shall not generally be processed on the studs. When plating
or other surface treatment is particularly required, it shall be in accordance with
the designation of the purchaser.
The case where the electroplating is processed should preferably be in accordance
with JIS B 1044.
The inspection on the shape and dimensions of studs shall be carried out by the
measurement in accordance withJIS B 1071 or an alterative method to this,
and the results shall conform to the specification of clause 4.
The straightness of studs shall be of 1/2 the runout at the outer surface of body when
the stud has been rotated once by arranging the flat plate, three wires for screw thread
measuring or an alternative measuring instrument to this and the dial gauge as given
in figure 1.
The inspection on the screw threads shall be in accordance with the following.
a) The screw threads on stud end side shall be measured by the direct measurement,
screw threads limit gauges or an alternative inspecting instrument to this, and
the results shall conform to the specification of 5.1
b) The screw threads of nut end side shall be measured in accordance with JIS B
1071 or an alternative method instead of this, and the results shall conform to
the specification of 5.2.
Further, the go screw thread ring gauge for the screw threads on nut end side on which the
electroplating has been processed shall be that of 4h.
The inspection on mechanical properties of studs shall be tested in accordance with the test programme B of JIS B 1051 according to the property class thereof, and the results shall conform to the specification of clause 6.
The surface condition of studs shall be inspected by the visual examination, and the results shall conform to the specification of clause 8.
The acceptance inspection, unless particularly designated by the purchaser, shall be in accordance with JIS B 1091.
The designation of studs shall be in accordance with JIS B 1010.
When
matters such as the shape of screw threads, the type of surface treatment are designated,
they shall be added as the occasion demands.

In this table, the permissible deviations on the thread angle and pitch
are not specified particularly, but these are included in the tolerances
on the pitch diameter by converting into the pitch diameter. Therefore,
as to the upper deviation of the pitch diameter in this table, the
virtual pitch diameter shall be inspected using the measuring instrument
or thread gauge having the reference length of engagement, and as to the
lower permissible deviation of the pitch diameter, the simple pitch
diameter shall be inspected. |
